Maria Answers (“Maria Answers,” “we,” “us”) provides a virtual receptionist service that answers calls, books appointments, and relays messages on behalf of the businesses that use it. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account & business details you give us at signup — your name, business name, email, and phone number.
- Call content — transcripts of calls Maria handles for your business, the caller’s number, and a short AI summary. We do not retain call audio recordings.
- Appointment & lead details a caller provides (name, phone, the service requested, preferred time).
- Calendar data, only if you connect a calendar — see the Google section below.
- Usage data — basic logs needed to run and secure the service.
How we use information
To answer and route your calls, book and manage appointments on your behalf, show you your calls and stats in your dashboard, deliver the service you signed up for, and keep the platform secure. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Google user data
If you connect a Google account so Maria can book appointments, we request the Google Calendar scopes needed to read your availability (free/busy) and to create, update, and cancel the appointment events Maria books. We use that access only to provide those scheduling features to you.
Maria Answers’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google calendar data for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not transfer or use it for any purpose other than providing or improving the booking feature you enabled, except as required by law or with your consent. You can disconnect at any time from your dashboard or at your Google account permissions, which revokes our access.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers that help us operate (for example, telephony, calendar, and infrastructure providers), each bound to protect it; with you (the business) for your own calls and bookings; and when required by law. When you connect a third-party tool via a webhook, we send the event data you configured to the destination you chose.
Data retention & security
We keep information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, then delete or anonymize it. Access tokens and secrets are encrypted at rest. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data.
Your choices
You can disconnect a connected calendar, remove webhook destinations, or ask us to delete your account and associated data by contacting us. Revoking calendar access stops all further calendar reads and writes.
